It's Alive!

Well, it's been a long time coming but at least I know the engine starts now! That's one big step I don't have to worry about anymore. I can't believe it started up so easily after 5 1/2 years of sitting!

Next up on the work order is painting the front fenders, installing them, finishing up the steering links, building the exhaust system, and finally getting the custom rear driveshaft built :-)

The Landy is coming along ever so slowly... Here are some updates.

First, Dan fab'd up these great lower rear shock mounts, we just have to coat them with a nice thick coating of POR-15 and they'll be set.

Second, I finally got around to installing the electric fans on the radiator. These will be quite a nice upgrade to the cooling system and should keep it cooler than the old mechanical fan while improving gas mileage a tiny bit. I had to build some aluminum brackets, but I think it turned out pretty nice!

Finally, I got the block-hugger headers on after a lot of cursing and headaches and I installed the stainless steel brake lines. I'll have some more pictures of those to come later...

Landy Update

The other night since Gina has been in Chicago, I came down to my dad's to work some more on the Landy (1994 Land Rover Defender 90). I got the transmission off and the clutch replaced and surprisingly it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. It is nice to have it out of the way though. I also got the shock towers modified enough to fit the external reservoir shocks that I got. Here's some pics of what I did. I just have to put the transmission back on and then focus on the fuel and electrical lines, eek! I can't wait until I get this thing done though, it's about time!
